Teacher Appreciation Week Recap – Earlier this month, Teacher Appreciation Week was packed with actions of gratitude for our teachers.  Thanks to all the parents who treated the whole Beethoven staff to a breakfast, a supply of recycled goods to use in the classrooms, a luncheon, gift cards, a massage, and other special treats throughout the week.  A bonus was the super special quotes plastered on the auditorium walls that the students provided about their teachers.

Field Day – Don’t forget, field day will be held on June 7 with a rain date of June 8. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Kris Hughes at: kris@izzitgreen.com. Kids will get to enjoy lots of outdoor activities, a live DJ, tattoos, and slushes!

Making Music Matters – Making Music Matters! needs your help. For the first time in the program’s history, they are faced with the challenge of being underfunded for the coming school year. If you’d like to help out by providing a donation, please contact Amy Brown at BrowneAmy@aol.com  or phone at 617-312-0156 or drop off your donation at the school office BY FRIDAY, MAY 25.

Playground Renovations – Our neighbor, Chestnut Hill Realty Group will be beautifying the entrance of the playground.  As the work is being done, please do not chat with the workers. During the renovation period, the playground will not be accessible after school.

Uniform Exchange – We are planning a school uniform exchange.  Stay tuned for details.

Beethoven Parent/Site Council Elections – May 22

We are having elections in the Spring so we can take off running next year. Join us on Tuesday May 22 at 6:00pm in the auditorium. Newly elected officers will take their positions next school year.

Beethoven/Ohrenberger K-8 Feeder School – Final vote!

On January 17 at 5:30pm in the Ohrenberger School Library, the Beethoven/Ohrenberger Joint Site Councils will meet to vote on the final phase of the K-8 feeder school model. Both site councils will be voting on the final stage of the Beethoven/Ohrenberger feeder model. This vote will create a formal request for the Superintendent and School Committee to sanction our feeder model into one school with two campuses.

WELCOME BACK!

Bus Students

Please help out bus drivers pick up all students efficiently and safely.  All bus students must be standing on their assigned corners.  No one should be waiting in his or her car.  Many times there are substitute bus drivers that will not know that the students in your cars and just drive by the stop.

Safety in the Schoolyard

All parents are reminded that you must stay to the LEFT of the yellow lines when dropping off and picking up your child.  Please pull to the front of the yard to make room for others.

All students must be picked up on the sidewalk by an adult and then escorted to the car.  Please remember to cross in the crosswalk.  The bus drivers have a hard time seeing people walking between the vehicles.

With the help of everyone we can keep the students safe in the schoolyard during pickup and drop off times.

As a reminder…
