Beethoven-Ohrenberger – Parent Council Update January 2017
The bookfair was a big success. Thanks to everyone who shopped and volunteered. Thanks to Beth Rimas and Cathy Ware for organizing.
We tried something new this year at the Beethoven- thanks to an idea from Melanie Kelly-Berkeley – we had a “classroom giving tree”. Teacher hung ornament on the tree with requests and parents took them as ideas for gifts. Parents and teachers loved the idea and we hope to extend it to the Ohrenberger next year.
Thanks to Lisa Burns for organizing the Launch fundraiser again this year. Fun was had by all who attended.
Thanks to Fran Lynch (students in 1st and 3rd grade) for collecting and sending in Labels for Education.
Jan 23-Feb 3: Souper Bowl – our annual food drive for a local food pantry.
Feb 11: Craft Day – A fun day of making crafts in the Ohrenberger Cafeteria for grades K1-5 from 9:30am-12pm. Many volunteers will be needed – look for an email and a flyer soon. Thanks to Eddie Siracusa and Chrissy Grant for organizing.
March 9 & 10: Think-A-Head: An interactive program for grades 1-8 that teaches head injury prevention. Thanks to Jocelyn Holguin for organizing.
March 31: Parents Rock – Our annual adult-only event with food, dancing and RAFFLES! Let by Rebecca Cavallaro and her committee. More info to come.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 14 at 6:30 pm in the Beethoven Auditorium. Childcare is provided. On the agenda will be a discussion of how to use our budget.
