Parent Council Meeting Recap – June 2015

The Beethoven/Ohrenberger Parent Council met on June 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Beethoven/Ohrenberger Parent Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The location alternates between the Beethoven auditorium and the Ohrenberger library. Childcare is provided. This was our last meeting of the 2014-2015 school year.

MEETING NOTES
Harneen Chernow is representing the Beethoven/Ohrenberger School in the Citywide Parent Council. We would love to have more representatives. If you are interested in participating, visit: www.citywideparentcouncil.org.
Ohrenberger Middle School Baseball Team in Championship Game Thursday night, locations TBD.

4th and 5th graders from MMM! performed at Ohrenberger Arts Night on May 27.
MMM! Spring Fundraiser is still going strong. A BIG THANK YOU to all the families who have contributed. There were also donations from local businesses and public officials.
End of Year Concerts THIS WEEK!
Ohrenberger Grade 5:  Tuesday, June 9, at 8:45 a.m.
Beethoven Grade 3:  Wednesday, June 10, at 8:45 a.m.
Ohrenberger Grade 4:  Thursday, June 11, at 8:45 a.m.
Ohrenberger Grade 3:  Friday, June 12, at 8:45 a.m.
Please note that students begin warming up at these times. The actual concerts begin at about 9:00. When the concerts conclude, students will turn in their instruments.  All concerts take place in the respective schools’ auditoriums.

Field Days
June 10: Beethoven It looks like it will be great weather. Thanks to Katie Tattan and Christine Lynch for organizing!
June 12: Ohrenberger Grades 3-5 and June 13: Ohrenberger Grades 6-8
Mr. Dotson is organizing the activities and would love to have some parents helping out in the mornings. If you are available to volunteer, please contact Mr. Dotson at: gdotson@bostonpublicschools.org or Lisa Burns at: lburns65@comcast.net.
Reminder: Many of the Field Day activities involve water play. Students are welcome to bring in a change of clothes on Field Day.
June 16: Parents and guardians of the current 2nd graders are invited to visit the Ohrenberger at 9:30 a.m.
June 18: Current 2nd graders will visit the Ohrenberger.
July 1: Playground upgrade due to begin.
Beethoven Park Day 
August 22: For incoming K1 and K2 students, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. There will be a uniform exchange. More info to come over the summer. Since the playground may still be under construction, the location is TBD.
