From the Principal – February 2013

‘Souper Bowl” Food Drive

Our food drive has kicked off to a great start. So far, we have collected over 400 items for the Roslindale Food Bank! We will continue to collect food items until Friday, February 1, 2013. Once again thank you for all of your support in this great cause.

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is piling up. Please have your child check if they are missing any winter clothing.

Anyone who made a donation in our school fundraiser and would like a tax letter please let Mrs. Deluca know in the main office. This fundraiser is ongoing and donations are always accepted.

Guest Speaker

Our Parent Council has found a guest speaker to talk with the Beethoven students about the principles of the civil rights movement that serve to uplift all American citizens. The students are going to learn about several civil rights leaders and Ms. Moses is going to share her personal story as the daughter of a civil rights hero.

School Vacation Week

There will be no school during the week of February 18th. All students will return to school on Monday, February 25th.

Craft Fair

On Saturday, February 9, 2013, the Parent Council will be hosting a Craft Fair at the Ohrenberger Cafeteria from 9:30AM — 12:00 PM. There is a $2.oo per child fee to pay for the cost of the crafts the students will make. Please RSVP to ensure that enough crafts are available for the students.

First in Math

Reminder that all students in grades 1 — 3 have access to the First in Math website (www.firstinmath.com). First In Math is a internet based math program that reinforces basic math skills in a fun manner. Students can practice their skills from addition to multi-step algebra. Each student has a unique user ID and password to access the program at school and at home. If you have any questions feel free to ask Mrs. Garlington our computer teacher.

***Remember: Safety first in the parking lot!!
